Starting Out

MIacademy is an online learning platform that offers specialised courses for maritime professionals and seafarers, focusing on industry-specific topics like safety, operations, and decarbonisation. The platform is powered by the World’s No. 1 maritime training platform – marineinsight.com.

To create a free account, simply click on the “Sign Up/ Join For Free” button on the homepage and fill in your details. Click here to register.

Once you’ve logged into your account, browse the courses in different categories and topics, select a course of your interest, and click on “Enrol.” Follow the payment instructions, if applicable.

After enrollment, your course materials will be available on your dashboard. You can access them anytime by logging into your account.

Click the “Forgot Password” link on the login page, enter your registered email, and follow the instructions to reset your password.

Go to the “My Profile” section in your dashboard to Edit Your Profile to update personal information, email, or professional details.



Taking Course

Most courses are self-paced with no time limit. However, some class-certified courses may have specific deadlines, which will be clearly mentioned in the course details.



No, courses are only available for access online to ensure the latest updates and materials are always available.

You will have lifetime access to the standalone course materials. When enrolling on “Pro Group Subscription” or “Grouped Courses”, you will have 1 year of access after purchasing or enrolling unless otherwise stated



Yes, you can retake assessments or modules until you pass, depending on the course requirements.

Some courses offer Q&A sessions or forums where you can interact with instructors. Check the course details for specific interaction opportunities.

All our courses only require a browser and internet connection. If in future any specific software or tools are required, they will be listed in the course description.

No, course access is personalized and cannot be shared. Sharing access violates our terms of service and may result in account suspension.

Yes, our platform is mobile browser friendly, allowing you to access courses through your phone or tablet.

Yes, we continuously update course content to ensure it aligns with the latest industry standards and best practices.

If any updates are made to an individual course you’re enrolled in, you will retain access to the new content without any additional cost.



You can track your progress through the course dashboard, where your completed lessons and assessments will be marked.

Unless otherwise mentioned, you can follow a flexible learning path and complete the lessons in any order.

Yes, our platform allows you to pause and pick up individual courses where you left off anytime as you have lifetime access. For Pro Groups or Grouped subscriptions, you have one year to access the courses anytime. 

We encourage feedback! After completing a course, you can leave a review and rating on the course page or contact us directly with suggestions. For every successful review – we offer a “10% off” discount coupon code.

Yes, we welcome suggestions for new courses. Please use the “Suggest a Course” link in your dashboard to share your ideas.

Certification

All our premium courses provide certificates of successful completion, however, our standalone free courses do not come with a certificate of completion.

Upon completing the course and passing the required assessments, your certificate will be emailed to the registered email ID.

As of now, our certificates are not recognized by any authority, however, all the courses are made as per the modern requirements of the maritime industry. 

Unfortunately, No. The certificates ar auto-generated once the candidate successfully completes the premium or Pro subscription courses and the name on the certificate is directly taken from your profile. We recommend checking, editing and completing your profile to avoid this issue in the future. 



Payment and Discounts

We accept major credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express), PayPal, and other common online payment options. For group or corporate packages, additional payment methods like bank transfers may be available.



All payments are processed in USD. However, your bank or payment provider will convert the amount to your local currency at the prevailing exchange rate.

Yes, we use industry-standard encryption and secure payment gateways to ensure your payment information is safe and protected.



Yes, you will receive an invoice via email once your payment is successfully processed. You can also contact us if you face any issues regarding your invoice.



Currently, we do not offer an instalment payment option. Full payment is required at the time of enrollment.

Refund Policy

We offer a 7-day refund policy if you are not satisfied with the course. Conditions may apply for third-party or live courses, so please refer to our refund policy for details.

Refunds are typically processed within 7-10 business days after your request has been approved. The refund will be credited back to the original payment method used.

To request a refund, send an email to support@marineinsight.com with your order details and reason for the refund request. Our team will review it and get back to you.

No, once the refund is processed, your access to the course will be revoked.

Yes, you may request to exchange your course for another one of equal value, provided it is within the 7-day refund period.

Yes, our refund policy applies to discounted courses as well. You can request a refund within 7 days of enrollment, provided you meet the conditions for a refund.

Group purchases and corporate packages are not eligible for refunds. However, exchanges or credits may be considered under specific circumstances.
