Fuel Storage System

In this system, the fuel oil is received from the shore facility and stored onboard ships in different tanks.

Fuel oils are loaded during bunkering using pipeline and connections present on the deck (Deck fill connections). The filling connection which is present in the bunker station on deck is provided with a sampling flange through which the sample is collected in a dripping method which is later then sent to the lab for testing.

The fuel which is received via bunkering from the barges or trucks is loaded on the storage tanks (also known as bunker tanks) which are provided with heating coils to maintain the viscosity of the fuel.
