What is Marine Radar

Marine radar is a navigation system that operates by transmitting radio waves and then receiving the reflected waves from objects in its path.

It is an essential tool for marine safety and is used for detecting other vessels at sea and avoiding collisions. The radar is mounted on a ship and provides information about the range, bearing, and speed of objects within its range.

The Marine radar operates on either X-band or S-band frequencies. The X-band operates at 9 GHz and provides a sharper image and better resolution, making it ideal for use in clear weather conditions.

The S-band, on the other hand, operates at 3GHz and is better suited for use in fog, rain, or other adverse weather conditions.
